Moorten Botanical Garden & Cactarium

Destinations

The unique Moorten Botanical Garden & Cactarium has awed many a visitor and should be on your Palm Springs to-do list. This amazing garden in the desert is home to the famous Cactarium and takes you through several different desert regions. Showcasing some impressive species of desert plants and cacti including a greenhouse dedicated to some smaller, unique plants.

At just a mile and half from downtown Palm Springs, this is a must-visit destination when in town. You can visit on your own, book a guided tour and even bring home a plant from the nursery. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to chat with Clark Moorten himself about the plants and history of the garden.

Tip: The Botanical Garden does host events and photoshoots making it a perfect backdrop. Check out their website for more details.

The Worlds First Cactarium

A greenhouse just for cacti and succulents? Heck yeah!

You have probably seen this popular backdrop on Instagram influencer photos and wondered where it was. This is the unique Cactarium, part of Moorten Botanical Gardens and it’s full of amazing plants. These are smaller and more delicate plants that are unique and alien-like. It’s quite an enjoyable spot to visit for any cactus lover.

Tip: Be sure to keep a close eye on the little ones you bring to the garden. There is very little stopping you from touching the plants and it will hurt to get pinched!
